Marco Odermatt Surprised by Marco Schwarz in World Cup Giant Slalom


The Swiss alpine skier Marco Odermatt was surprised by his Austrian fellow skier Marco Schwarz in the Giant Slalom race of the FIS World Cup in Val d'Isere, France. Odermatt, who won the first run of the race, was overtaken by Schwarz in the second run as the Austrian finished in first place. Schwarz's winning time of 1:59.64 was 0.17 seconds faster than Odermatt's. The two Marios were followed by the Italian Stefano Gross, who finished in third place.
